Living Room Renovation - in progress

aka - More than you ever wanted to know about my living room...

One of the big things that have been keeping us busy is working on our new house. The biggest project we've been...and are still working on is our living room. Here's some before and during pictures. Hopefully someday I'll have some afters to show!

When we moved in the ceiling was a really dark purple-red and the walls were yellow. That dark color above my head was just crushing me! We had to lighten it up. The walls also had some really intense texture plus pretty visible seams that drove my husband crazy, so he decided they needed to come down.

It looks like we just painted everything white in the pictures, but really all the drywall came down and the whole place got new drywall. The exterior wall got a cozy new layer of insulation and we added a ceiling fan and overhead light to the previously dark room.

The ceilings will stay white, but the walls are going to be a nice china blue. Plus the door and windows will get new, freshly stained casings and there will be new baseboards too!

While the walls were open my husband wired in a light for the hallway - it really needed it, it was impossible to set the thermostat before since it was so dark :) Oh, and the living room light and fan are both on dimmers, which I love!

We are still working on a couple of the big things in here - but maybe you'll see after pictures someday!

I'm going to link up for DIY day at A Soft Place to Land

Hiatus

Since the end of my apprenticeship at DSP I've taken a little break. I found out I'm expecting and the computer adds to my morning sickness, so that's encouraged me to stay away for a bit. Plus we've moved to a new house and been generally really busy, but hopefully I'll be back into scrapbooking again now.

I'm starting out with a little card for a contest on the blog, Scrapped into a Friendzy Here it is:

Kind of fun for fall/thanksgiving.

I've got some scrapbooking I'm hoping to get done, and if all goes well I'd also like to do some designing. We'll see if life cooperates with me! :)

Wow!

I've had a kind of crazy time traveling to visit family then having a big storm and not having power for a while, but I think I'm getting back in the swing of things :)

I've added a couple new things to the store recently!
The kit Algodón is in the store now, but you can also get it as a posting bonus for posting a layout using my kit Que Sera - there's some details here: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38313

This challenge is running til the end of the month.

Here's something else new in the store! The Instant Album Plus that goes along with Lollipop Garden and Easter Garden, Rainy Day. It has 6 12x12in ploppers - plus 6 new elements, a set of Month Tags, and a set of Date Tags 1-31.

My Next Challenge....

For my next challenge you can use either my Lollipop Garden Kit or My Easter Garden Kit!

Plus if you use them both together you'll get an even better prize!!

I don't have posting bonuses made yet, but I'm thinking of an instant album if you use both kits together! Maybe even a new Instant Album Plus - with ploppers plus extras! So if you don't have them both go out and get them today!

Plus there's a matching backpack you might want to pick up too so you'll have a matched mega kit :)

These kits are so bright and fun. I hope you like them

Here's a recent layout I did using all of them together.

All my products are on sale today, (the 5th) so hurry and get anything that might be on your wishlist!

A new Challenge!

I've started another challenge at DSP! It was so cool to see people posting with my family tree kit, I'm really excited to see what they'll do with this one. We're doing a buy one get one deal with Monkey Business - plus if you post layouts with any of my kits you're entered in a drawing for one of my products free!

You can get all the details here http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37262

The extra little perk is that if you use Monkey Business in a boy layout and post that to the inspiration station you'll get another entry in the drawing! Cool. I really think this is going to be fun.

I feel like I'm getting better as a designer and I hope you're enjoying my kits! I'm still working on making the posting bonus, so let me know if there's something you'd like me to try and add to the bonus for this challenge.

Have fun!

Here they are!!! The new kits!
Monkey Business-

and Lollipop Garden!

I am really loving both of these kits right now! I'm making a book for my little guy and I'm including these pages with him looking happy and sad. I just think this turned out way cute. (I guess I'm kind of biased)
I think the Monkey Business kit is just perfect for little boys! But I think it's pretty versatile too. I want to see what -you- can do with it!
I'm starting a challenge using the Monkey Business kit right now, so you'd better run over to the store and pick it up! :)
